How to become a millionaire before you’re 25

A question I was asked recently was ‘How do you become a millionaire before the age of 25?’, an interesting question that as seem may seem tough to concisely answer, but there are 4 points to this question that I want to address.

STOP FOCUSING ON BECOMING A MILLIONAIRE BEFORE THE AGE OF 25.

Contrary to popular belief and books that have been written, the world doesn’t give you a million pounds because you think about it, or you ask for it. The world will give you a million pounds when you figure out how you can give it a million pounds’ worth of value, whether that be as an entrepreneur, or a singer or a dancer, focus on making value, not making money and the rest will follow.

BEING NICE IS UNLIMITED, IT ALWAYS HAS A POSITIVE EFFECT, AND IT'S FREE, SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD… GIVE THAT AWAY TO EVERYBODY.

HOW CAN I FIGURE OUT WHERE MY VALUE LIES?

You can become a millionaire by doing virtually anything, by selling paper or strawberries, but you have to do it really fucking well. In order to do something really fucking well, you’re going to have to be obsessed by it, and to be obsessed by it you’re going to have to love it.

A question to help you figure that out – if every single job paid £1000 a month, which job would you do? Whatever your answer is to that question, that’s the thing you love most and therefore that’s the thing you’re most likely to be obsessed with and therefore that’s the thing you’re most likely to do really fucking well.

HOW DO I GET A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE?

You’re going to come up against a lot of people who love what they do, so how do we get a competitive advantage over them? Simply outworking the competition. If you work 120 hour weeks, and your competition is working 40 hour weeks, it will take you 4 months, if you’re doing the exact same thing, to achieve what it will take them 12 months to do.

Everyone you encounter is a human being.

They’re going to be A&R if you want to be a recording artist, they’re going to be the investor stood behind the door if you want to be an entrepreneur, so be nice to people. Being nice is unlimited, it always has a positive affect, and it’s free, so for the love of god… give that away to everybody.
