Steven Bartlett appeared for England in Soccer Aid for UNICEF UK 2025 at Old Trafford, marking his fourth consecutive year in the charity fixture. The match, organised by Soccer Aid Productions, attracted more than 70,000 spectators and millions of television viewers. Proceeds from the night pushed the event’s cumulative fundraising total beyond £103 million, maintaining Soccer Aid’s position as the UK’s most successful philanthropic sporting initiative.

Bartlett, a lifelong Manchester United supporter, described playing at the stadium as “a deeply personal honour”.

The 2025 England side featured Louis Tomlinson, Sir Mo Farah, Vicky McClure, Paddy McGuinness, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and David James. They faced a Soccer Aid World XI led by former Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci. As customary, matchday revenue, broadcast profits and viewer pledges were channelled to UNICEF UK, funding projects that deliver clean water, healthcare and schooling for children in crisis zones.

Ticket prices started at £20 for adults and £10 for children, reinforcing Soccer Aid’s family appeal while maximising charitable yield. Corporate support from Vitality and other partners expanded promotional reach, ensuring the event’s philanthropic impact extended well beyond the final whistle.

Bartlett thanked supporters in a post-match statement, highlighting the long-term importance of consistent giving rather than one-off gestures. He reiterated that sustained contributions, however small, compound over time to produce significant social returns—a principle mirrored by the steady growth of Soccer Aid’s fundraising total.
